I don't remember what my psychometric profiles says?

Updated: Feb 13

In my conversations with leaders during development, coaching or information sharing discussions, I get feedback that it is quite common for individuals to undergo profiling assessments as part of their personal and professional development. However, what is interesting to note , is that many of these individuals tend to forget the results of these assessments and therefore are unable to effectively apply the information provided to their daily lives.

Psychometric assessments are popular tools used to measure a person's cognitive abilities, personality traits, and emotional intelligence. By understanding the results of these assessments, individuals can gain valuable insights into their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. In this blog, we will explore some steps that a person can take to apply the results of their psychometric reports to their personal and professional life.

In terms of application, psychometric reports can provide a wealth of information about a person's strengths, weaknesses, personality traits, and career preferences. With this information in hand, a person can make informed decisions about their personal and professional life, and work towards realising their full potential. Here are a few ways in which one can use the results of psychometric reports:

  1. Career Planning: The results of your psychometric report can help you identify the careers and job roles that are best suited to your skills and personality. For example, if you have a high level of attention to detail and organization skills, you may be well suited to roles in finance or administration. The results of your psychometric report can also be used to help you make informed decisions about your choice of job-roles, companies to work for and vocations matches your natural preferences. By understanding your skills, abilities, and personality traits, you can find a career that is a good fit for you and increase your chances of job satisfaction.

  2. Personal Development: Your psychometric report can also provide you with insights into your personality traits, such as your level of extroversion or emotional intelligence. You can use this information to identify areas where you may want to improve, such as developing stronger interpersonal skills or becoming more assertive. By identifying these areas, a person can focus on building upon their strengths and working on their weaknesses to achieve their goals.

  3. Team Building: If you are part of a team, understanding the results of your own psychometric report and those of your colleagues can help you work better together. For example, if you have a high level of creativity and someone else has a high level of attention to detail, you can complement each other's strengths and work together to achieve great results.

  4. Communication: The results of your psychometric report can help you understand how you prefer to communicate, such as whether you are more comfortable with written or verbal communication. This information can help you choose the most effective communication style for different situations, improving your relationships with others.

  5. Time Management: The report can also provide information about your preferred working style and pace, which can help you manage your time more effectively. For example, if you are an individual who works best under pressure, you may be better suited to deadline-driven projects.

  6. Improving Interpersonal Relationships: Psychometric tests can also help you understand how your personality traits and behaviours can impact your relationships with others. By gaining insight into your communication style, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution skills, you can work to improve your relationships with family, friends, and colleagues.

  7. Set achievable goals: The results of psychometric assessments can be used to set achievable goals for personal and professional growth. For example, if a person identifies a weakness in a specific area, they can set a goal to improve in that area, whether it be through training or additional experience.

In conclusion, the results of your psychometric report/s can be invaluable in helping you make informed decisions about your personal and professional life. Whether you're looking to improve your career prospects, develop new skills, or build stronger relationships, the insights you gain from your report can help you reach your goals. Regular review and reference to your psychometric reports can be a great help in enhancing your Self-Awareness too. Should you need assistance to translate your psychometric reports into tangible actionable items, you may consider approaching a coach who is a certified practitioner or providers of the tools!
